Let us introduce ourselves. We’re Simon and Kendall - American ex-pats living, working and traveling abroad.
In 2019, we left home and moved to Dubai, United Arab Emirates. We’ve spent a lot of time traveling throughout the Middle East - with the exception of a brief hiatus for the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2023 we moved to Bristol, England. We're grateful to have had the world as our backyard for adventure, and we’re thrilled to bring you along with us.
Simon
Simon is our in-home web developer. The site mechanics, fun buttons, page transitions and animations you'll see around here are all Simon. He’s the brain behind our operation, and plays ultimate frisbee when he's not traveling or building websites.
Kendall
Kendall is responsible for starting this wild ex-pat adventure when she accepted an offer to relocate to her software company's Middle East office. She's the creative that powers our website design, photography, and content, and the keeper of the Google Maps pins.
How We Travel

Book Flights
We use Google Flights most often. Set a price alert if you have somewhere in mind, and are waiting on the right price. Use the "Explore" functionality in Google Flights if you have dates and a flexible destination.

Find Somewhere to Stay
Sometimes we do Airbnbs or VRBOs; we find that these are often better when traveling with larger groups, or when staying outside of a city. Sometimes we just do a hotel; we find that these are often more economical when traveling with only 2 people.

Pick Key Places
Our favorite thing to do in a new place is to walk around. Really! It's a great way to get a sense of local life. It's a great way to people watch, to wander, and to gain a sense of the streets and the grocery stores and the cafes. Kendall is a big Google Maps pins gal. So, we pick out and pin a few key sights to make sure to hit over the course of a trip. And then, we wander from place to place and stop anywhere that calls our name on the way.

Welcome to Terminal 3!

Let us introduce ourselves. We are Simon and Kendall, two American ex-pats living, working and traveling abroad. We met while living in Madison, Wisconsin. In 2019 we moved to Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) and began our ex-pat life, spending a lot of time traveling throughout the Middle East - minus a brief COVID hiatus! In 2023 we moved to Bristol, United Kingdom. We're excited to now have Europe right in our backyard!
Simon works as a web developer for a design firm - which came in pretty handy for this project! All of the site mechanics, fun buttons, page transitions and animations you'll see around here are Simon. Kendall works as a technical project manager for a software company. But, she's got a bit of flare for color and design, too. We've been building up our travel catalogue over the last 4 years that we've been living abroad - and you can thank Kendall's work for that.
Why Terminal 3?
During our time in Dubai, we developed our love for travel as a couple. This was our first time living together, and our first time living abroad. After travel opened post-COVID, we began exploring more and more - particularly destinations in the Middle East that we likely never would have visited while living in the US - thanks to the endless direct flights out of the Dubai airport on Emirates airline. Terminal 3 is the Emirates terminal in the Dubai airport, and will always hold a special place in our hearts - particularly the champagne lounge.
